The Shlomo Carlebach Heritage Center – OPENING SOON!

Meor Modi'im is the moshav which Reb Shlomo’s followers founded in 1976 and which was Reb Shlomo's home in Israel from 1976 to 1994. His followers have dreamed of developing a "Living Memorial" which will allow visitors to learn about and experience the life and times of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, zt”l. The development of the Shlomo Carlebach Heritage Center in Mevo Modi'im is the manifestation of this dream. The completion and opening of the Heritage Center building is expected very soon.

The Heritage Center will include:

An Exhibit of the time-line of Reb Shlomo’s life in which visitors will have an experiential journey into his teachings, music and the world in which he lived, through concerts, film, group learning sessions, etc.

The Legacy Archives, available for researchers to study Reb Shlomo’s deep teachings. It will also enable the establishment of a pedagogical resource center to make educational materials available to teachers.

An Education Center of diverse educational activities catering to a wide spectrum of potential audiences, both individuals and especially organized groups. The educational programs will operate in conjunction with the content and messages conveyed in the Exhibit. Longer seminars that allow participants to deepen their knowledge and personal connections to Reb Shlomo’s teachings and philosophy will be offered.

A Performing Arts Center housing state-of-the-art facilities which will attract a variety of visitors. Both indoor theater and outdoor amphitheater are planned.

A Guest Center housing guests for both weekday stays and Shabbat and holidays. There will be facilities suitable for students as well as family and tourist class rooms.
